ATTORNEY
Jessa C. Marfal
Jessa Marfal is a dedicated legal professional with a strong commitment to community advocacy and social justice. She earned her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, where she graduated with honors. While at Drake, Jessa was actively involved in leadership and service roles—she served as Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, sat on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, worked as a Student Ambassador, and was recognized on the Dean’s List throughout her time in law school.
Before pursuing her legal education, Jessa spent five years as a paralegal for family law attorney Lisa Noble, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in family law. Her professional journey into the legal field began even earlier—her very first job was with Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa, where she worked as a Youth Intern. That early role connected her to Iowa’s Asian and immigrant communities and laid the foundation for her continued dedication to advocacy and support for underserved populations. She also worked with the Iowa Department of Corrections, where she further witnessed the systemic barriers that many face in accessing justice.
Jessa’s passion for family law is both professional and personal. As a child of divorce, she understands how emotionally taxing the process can be—and believes it doesn’t have to be that way. She is committed to helping families navigate separation with compassion, dignity, and care. Jessa is especially passionate about providing trauma-informed legal services to survivors of domestic violence and advocating for those whose voices are too often left unheard.
A proud Des Moines native and Filipina woman, Jessa values creating inclusive and empowering environments wherever she goes. Her personal and professional experiences have fueled her drive to expand access to legal services and ensure that all individuals—regardless of background—receive the representation, respect, and support they deserve.
After rounding out her education and training, Jessa has come full circle and rejoined Lisa Noble—this time as an attorney, continuing her commitment to providing thoughtful, client-centered legal representation.
When she’s not working, Jessa enjoys spending time with her husband and two beloved dogs, Manny Puppiao and Moose.
